Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that his country’s economy has maintained its uninterrupted growth for 24 consecutive quarters, i.e. 6 years, noting that Turkey currently ranks 16th among the world’s largest economies and the sixth largest in Europe.

At the conclusion of the “Musiad Expo 2026” exhibition, Erdoğan was quoted by Anadolu Agency as saying that his country will continue to work to achieve sustainable and balanced growth, in light of the expansion of the base of exporting companies.

He explained that the number of companies exporting has increased from about 33,000 companies in 2002 to 168,000 companies in 2025, more than fivefold.

60,000 companies and 3 million employees

Erdoğan pointed out that the Association of Independent Businessmen and Industrialists (MOSYAD) represents more than 60,000 companies employing about 3 million people, and includes more than 14,000 members inside and outside Turkey, through 184 branches and representations in 84 countries.

In another part of his speech, the Turkish president warned that the development of artificial intelligence without paying enough attention to the human element and human values could lead to results that are contrary to the desired gains.

According to Anatolia, Erdogan stressed that technologies, software, and algorithms can bring harm rather than benefit if human values are not respected, calling for economic and trade relations to be constantly reviewed in light of core values.
